Generali Asigurari, 76m-euro revenues in eight months

Generali insurance company in the first eight months of this year underwrote gross premiums worth 75.9m euros (250m RON), a 45% increase (in euros) against the same period last year. Generali saw turnover advance at a slower rate compared with the first half, when the company reported a 50% growth in euros. Turnover growth was higher on the segment of life insurance (58% in the first 8 months). On the general insurance segment, the company registered a 42% increase in the first eight months, to 64.8m euros. The company's best-selling policies were car insurance, followed by building insurance. Tudor Moldovan, the company's general manager, says the company in the first eight months already generated 87% of turnover budgeted for the entire year. The latest move by Generali was the launch of Generali Fond de Pensii, a manager of mandatory private pensions. It plans to attract 300,000 customers, which would account for a 10-12% market share.
