P&G turnover stagnates, but profit is up

The turnover of companies controlled by American FMCG giant Procter & Gamble in Romania reached a total value of 553.2 million euros (1.9 billion RON) last year, just 1% more than in 2006, when it amounted to 547 million euros (1.85 billion RON). However, P&G's profit derived through the four entities it operates in Romania, went up 25% in RON last year, to 160 million RON (44.3 million euros). Procter & Gamble Marketing, the division that contributes 40% of the company's revenues locally, reported an 18% turnover increase in RON in 2007 against 2006, and a doubling of its net profit, to 149.3 million RON. The division's increase matches the FMCG market's growth rate (19%, according to data from market research company MEMRB).
