After the scrappage scheme for cars and home appliances, Lee
Cooper, the store chain that sells jeans clothing has launched a
wardrobe renewal scheme, whereby you get "100 RON off on any pair
of jeans bought if you bring an old pair". The retailer, with
almost 11 million euros in turnover last year, according to the
Ministry of Finance, hopes this scheme will bring it a 50% sales
rise compared with a regular month, considering that since the
beginning of this year, buyers' sales budgets have been
significantly adjusted, with retailers able to sell some of their
stocks only via discount campaigns. "It is true that our
inspiration came from the auto and the home appliances industry,
but people have been very receptive, and now come with bags full of
older jeans.
When this promotion started, our intention was to
boost sales by 50% against a regular autumn month, and, considering
how the campaign has started, I think we will hit our target,"
Alina Lungu, marketing manager of Lee Cooper Jeans, told ZF.
