Dumagas seals first transport contract with Ford Craiova

Dumagas Transport in Craiova, one of the leading road carriers of goods, with turnover worth almost 40 million euros in 2008, is the first carrier on the Romanian market to have sealed a contract with Ford Romania. "We sealed a transport contract with Ford Craiova," said Mihai Dugaesescu, who owns Dumagas Transport, adding that he could not provide further details due to confidentiality clauses. Therefore, the value of the contract is not known and neither are the products that the company will carry. Dumagas will most likely transport components and parts for the Ford plant in Craiova, according to ZF information. Ford started production of Transit Connect light utility vehicle on September 8th, with the first models to be delivered to Ford dealers in Central and Eastern Europe, Romania included, starting in the near future. Distribution of Ford models onto the Romanian market will continue to be handled by Romcar, the brand's importer on the Romanian market, which is part of Tiriac Holdings.
