Ancuţa lobbies to bring Romgaz on Sibiu Exchange
Teodor Ancuţa, founder of Sibiu Exchange, says he is trying to
persuade state authorities to list Romgaz Mediaş on the spot market
of Sibiu, which he launched early this year, given the state-owned
company's proximity to the Sibiu Exchange.
Romgaz is one of the biggest state-owned energy companies, with
turnover worth almost 3.2bn RON (around 754m euros) and net income
of 572.5m RON (135m euros) last year.
Sibex enjoys the support of the Warsaw exchange, with which it has
a partnership, and which could bring part of the investors the
state needs to sell a 15% stake in Romgaz.
The Government has recently decided to sell stakes of 15% in
Transelectrica Bucureşti (TEL), Transgaz Mediaş (TGN) and Romgaz
Mediaş, with the latter as the only one of the three that is not
listed.
The listing of Fondul Proprietatea (Property Fund - FP) on the BSE
is likely to cast a shadow over Sibiu spot market, especially if
the management fails to bring companies to make the market liquid.
Ancuţa in May said he would have two companies listed on Sibex spot
market in three months and that he wanted to have five IPOs
conducted for this year, but nothing is certain at this
moment.
