Topolog and Casimcea, likely wind energy stars in 2011
Valea Dacilor, Topolog, Casimcea, Dăieni or Valea Nucarilor are just a few of Dobrogea communes standing a chance to become real stars this year as international players are coming up with over 2bn euros to build around 450 windmills.
Whereas last year the hottest spot in Romania for wind farm
investments was Fântânele commune, in 2011 several regions of
Moldova are also emerging besides the Dobrogea villages.
Transelectrica data show investments of around 760m euros were
operated in 2010 to install the 424 MW in wind farms, a significant
sum given the economic background of the past two years.
Even so, according to the national power transmission company, 2011
will bring a spectacular leap in investments, as a capacity of
around 1,112 MW, the equivalent of investments of above 2bn euros,
is expected to be connected to the network.
Practically, data show that while around 170 wind turbines had been
installed at the end of 2010, a network of almost 450 wind mills
should be connected by late 2011.
