Kathrein makes 46m euros from communication antennas
Kathrein Romania, a company producing
communication antennas in Timi[oara, expects to generate 46.8m-euro
turnover this year, up 5% from 2010, when it reported receipts of
44.6m euros. The equipment producer is owned by Germany's
Kathrein-Werke KG, which owns another communication equipment
producer in Romania, called Romkatel.
"The increase is smaller than in previous years amid investments we
plan for this year," says Dan Tomin, general manager of Kathrein
Romania and of Romkatel, referring to the 19% advance posted last
year against 2009, when the company's turnover reached 37.5m
euros.
At present, production is carried out in six units employing 740
people and the company this year plans to build another two halls,
in the wake of 7m-euro investments, a sum including the cost of
equipment.
"The two units will have a 9,000-sqm area, similar with the current
one," Tomin says about the halls where another several hundred
employees will work.
