Alcoa Fujikura plans to expand production

Alcoa Fujikura, a manufacturer of electric wiring for use in the automotive industry has reached its maximum production capacity and announced investments in new production facilities. "The automotive component market is constantly rising and the manufacturing facilities we have are already operating at close to peak capacity," stated Adriana Lenardt, the company''s communication manager. She added the company would initially invest up to one million euros in arranging a new manufacturing facility in Beius, Bihor County. "The new factory will take up 3,600 square metres and production should begin in May. We will employ 76 workers at first, with the number of employees to reach 400 by yearend," Lenardt added. Alcoa Fujikura estimates to have made 15 million euros in turnover last year, an increase of 16% on 2004. ZF
