Doka reaches 30% share of formwork market

29.03.2009, 17:20 11
Doka Romania, the local subsidiary of Austrian formwork manufacturer Doka, posted 19.6 million euros in revenues last year, up 30% against the previous year, which include revenues derived from formwork rental, and expects similar revenues for this year. The company now accounts for 30% of the construction formwork market. "For 2009, we plan to achieve a similar sales and rental volume, but the turnover is dependent on how costs and prices progress. Under the current market conditions, the strategic model pursued up until 2008 is no longer applicable. We are very mindful of costs, and our strategy will be one of expanding our activity onto new customer segments and products," said Adina Bilcu, general manager of Doka Romania. Company representatives expect a decline of the market, from the 60 million euros recorded last year, but did not say how steep they anticipated the market decline would be. Doka is involved both in formwork sale and in rental. Revenues derived from rental amount to 4 million euros, according to estimates based on data supplied by the company.
