Romania Drinks Service, the producer and distributor of the Garrone brand, is investing two million euros in a new logistics and production centre 15km away from Bucharest. "We will complete this centre by year-end and we will make digestives by Italian recipes: amaretto, fernet and liqueurs. I believe we will find a niche in the market for superior quality digestives," says Alexandru Cazacu, general manager of Romanian Drinks Service, held by Italy's Rodia Spa. He says things will be completely different from how they were when the company entered the vermouth market. "Back then there was no-one on the market, but now the digestives market is already crowded," Cazacu says. The production facility near Bucharest will have a 6 million bottles/year capacity. ZF
