Jolidon sees 22% growth

Underwear maker Jolidon Cluj-Napoca, one of the best-known apparel brands in Romania, saw sales increase by 22% to 7 million euros for the first half of the year. Nine-month data are not yet available. The company has a network of 30 branded stores and also sells its products through more than 1,000 other stores. "The hypermarket-type stores came along besides the old clients and we created our own chain of stores, which currently covers all the major cities of the country," says Cristian Mateiu, a director in Jolidon's marketing department. The company in Cluj is one of the few clothing factories in Romania that has developed a strong Romanian brand and has not been involved in production under licence, which has been the main type of production at most factories in Romania. The Jolidon products first went international four years go, when the company opened its first office abroad in Budapest. ZF
