Timisoara-based Spumotim SA, a polyurethane foam producer, posted a turnover worth 9.2 million euros (32.3 million RON) in the first six months of the year, a 19% increase against the same period of last year. "The launch on the market of the new Dacia Logan models has provided us with new development opportunities, with deliveries to the carmaker being the main reason for the trend we saw in the first part of the year," Ioan Seiman, general manager of Spumotim told ZF Transilvania. According to him, the deliveries of polyurethane foams to Dacia-Renault account for some 30-50% of turnover posted by Spumotim, and currently the company produces some 20 new models of seating foam for Logan. Another major customer of the company in the automotive field is Johnson Controls. "In 2005, we started to produce seating foam for the new diesel and station wagon models and we started deliveries to the new Dacia-Renault plant in Russia, a new location where the group will assemble Logan cars for the Eastern European market," added Spumotim's general manager.
