Sibiu-based Mondostar, a manufacturer of apparel under contract intends to take its own brands to the regional markets in Eastern Europe. "The development strategy includes the launch of our products in the region, with countries like Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey and Russia considered a priority," Mircea Vasiu, the company's brand manager told ZF Transilvania. At present, more than 95% of the company's output is exported to Germany and Switzerland. The Sibiu-based producer works with Strellson (Tommy Hilfiger licensee in Europe) and Digel on the men's jackets and suits segment and makes Basler and Leineweber women's pants. The official added local expansion would be pursued at the same time, as Mondostar would open its first three stores outside Sibiu this year. ZF
