Portuguese company Coindu, a manufacturer of car covers, which owns a plant in the Curtici-Arad free trade area, estimates to double its turnover within the next three years, from 7.5 million euros in 2007 to approximately 18 million euros in 2010.According to Jos? Carlos de Barros e Sousa, general manager of Coindu Romania, the number of employees will reach 1,200, as production capacities increase. "At present, there is a high demand for products from the auto parts industry, which is why investors on this market are aware that the real gains will come after one to three-years," stated Jos? Carlos de Barros e Sousa. During its initial stage, Coindu employed a staff of 450. By the end of 2006, the production capacity had expanded, therefore requiring the introduction of two shifts, i.e. 800 jobs. This year's target is to reach 1,200 employees, who will work in three shifts. Initially, the Coindu management had announced that the company expected to reach 1,200 employees by as late as 2008.
