"The old model will be sold under the same name- "Ibiza", while the new model will be called "the new Ibiza", and the current price campaign will continue until the old model is no longer available on the market, which is expected to take place at the end of 2009, at the earliest," Bogdan Militaru, brand manager of Seat at Porsche Romania, told ZF. Sales of the new Seat Ibiza will start in the second half of June. "We estimate the new model will sell 500-600 units, from the launch, until the end of the year," specified Militaru. In the first quarter of this year, Seat sold 823 units, slightly down against last year, with 80% of the sales generated by Ibiza models, by Cordoba, the sedan built on the same platform as the Ibiza model, and the Leon hatchback.
