Brewery Holdings Romania finalised investments worth over ten million dollars in the modernisation and refurbishing of Grivita International brewery, a fact that led to the improvement of the beer quality and of the brewery's output, the trade manager of BH Romania Nick Penny told a press conference. "The reason for which we made this investment in Grivita International was the history of the brewery and the Gambrinus brand - a well-known name," Penny added. Penny said that the modernisation programme of the factory included the entire technological process from the selection of raw material to bottling. Grivita International brewery, the producer of Gambrinus beer, holds a 6 percent share of the beer market, production registering an increase of 16 percent in 1999 as compared to the previous year. The technical manager of BH Romania Zoltan Magyari pointed out that the group holds three breweries - Grivita International, Bere Miercurea Ciuc and Haber International with a total capacity of 2.4 million hectolitres per year. BH Romania holds 19 percent of the total beer sales in Romania and 25 percent of the draft beer sales and is the national leader of this industry in Romania, said Magyari.
