Eight micro-enterprises, several of which operate in constructions and retail, posted turnover worth over two million euros last year, whilst the most successful was a firm in Iasi, which erects buildings, and reported annual taxable revenues worth almost 7 million euros.
Micro-enterprises are firms with up to nine employees. Highest revenues were reported by those operating in the constructions and civil engineering sector with micro-enterprises in such fields occupying the top two positions in the ranking.
A constructions firm in Iasi reported the highest revenue, worth 6.9 million euros, whilst a company based in Ilfov county ranked second, with a gross revenue worth 4.6 million euros, according to data centralised by the fiscal authorities.
The wholesale of intermediate products brought a Bucharest-based firm, which derived taxable revenues worth 3.5 million euros last year, to third place in the ranking. The next place is filled by another Bucharest-based company, which was involved in buying and selling real estate properties, and reported revenues worth 3.4 million euros. The tax applied for 2007 stood at 2%, with rates for this year and for 2009 is set to climb to 2.5% and 3% respectively.
The fifth place also goes to a firm from Bucharest, namely a company that sells textile materials in specialised stores, which saw revenues worth 3 million euros. A micro-enterprise based in Calarasi, with taxable revenue worth 2.4 million euros from selling wood and construction materials, has managed to enter the ranking at number 6.
The next position is filled by a travel agency in Constanta county, which derived revenues worth 2.08 million euros.
The 8th position goes to a real estate agency in Bucharest, which registered with the fiscal authorities revenues worth 2.04 million euros in 2007.
At number 9, the ranking also includes a company involved in the manufacture of car bodies and trailers, with 1.9 million euros in revenues.
The last position of the ranking is filled by a firm that operates in business and management consulting, with taxable revenue of almost 1.8 million euros.
